Privacy Policy

Nummeric is built so that nothing about your calculations leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to share. There are no ads, no advertising identifier (IDFA), and no cross-app tracking. What the app does send to the developer is crash reports and anonymous usage analytics — never your calculations — to fix bugs and improve the app; see Diagnostics & Analytics below.

Data We Collect

No personal data. Nummeric has no user accounts and does not collect your name, contacts, or any personal data. What the app does send is crash reports and anonymous usage analytics (see Diagnostics & Analytics below), tied to an anonymous app-instance ID — never to your identity, and with no advertising identifier. None of it includes your calculations, notebooks, or personal data.

Data Stored on Your Device

Nummeric stores the following data locally on your device:

• Calculation history — your past calculations and results
• Notebooks — your math notebook documents
• Scratchpad — saved values and notes
• User constants — custom constants you define
• Preferences — your chosen theme, settings, and layout configurations

All of this data is stored using Apple's SwiftData framework on your device. It never leaves your device unless you explicitly enable iCloud sync or use the share function.

iCloud Sync

If you enable iCloud sync (off by default), your calculation history, notebooks, and scratchpad are synced across your Apple devices using Apple's CloudKit infrastructure. This data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple. Neogy LLC does not have access to your iCloud data. You can disable sync at any time in Nummeric's settings.

Apple Intelligence Features

Nummeric uses Apple's on-device FoundationModels framework for features like Ask Nummeric (AI chat), smart paste, and history insights. All AI processing happens entirely on your device. No data is sent to Apple's servers, Neogy LLC's servers, or any third party for AI processing.

Camera & Microphone

Nummeric may request access to your camera (to scan equations and receipts) and microphone (for voice input). These features process data entirely on your device:

• Camera — images are processed on-device and are not stored or transmitted
• Microphone — audio is processed using on-device speech recognition and is not stored or transmitted

You can revoke these permissions at any time in iOS Settings.

Location

Nummeric requests your location once during initial setup to auto-detect your local tax region for the sales tax calculator. Your location is used momentarily and is never stored or shared.

Face ID / Touch ID

Nummeric offers biometric authentication to protect your calculation history. Biometric data is handled entirely by Apple's Secure Enclave. Nummeric never has access to your biometric data.

Currency Exchange Rates

The unit converter fetches live currency exchange rates from a public API. This is the only network request Nummeric makes. No personal data or device identifiers are included in these requests. Rates are cached locally for offline use.

Diagnostics & Analytics

To keep Nummeric stable and to improve it over time, the app sends two kinds of data to the developer through Firebase (a Google service): crash, hang, and error reports (Crashlytics), and anonymous usage analytics — which features are used, screen views, sessions, and engagement.

• This data never includes your calculations, notebooks, or personal data. Crash reports carry technical diagnostics (stack traces, device model, OS and app version); analytics carries aggregate usage events.
• It is tied to an anonymous app-instance identifier, never to your name, account, or Apple ID. The advertising identifier (IDFA) is not used, so there is no cross-app ad tracking. There are no ads.
• You can view and export the crash/diagnostic reports captured on your device in Nummeric's Settings → Diagnostics.

Third-Party Services

Nummeric uses a single third-party platform — Firebase (Google) — for crash reporting (Crashlytics) and anonymous usage analytics, as described above. It contains no advertising libraries and no social-media trackers, and the advertising identifier (IDFA) is not collected. The other external service is the currency-rate API mentioned above.

Children's Privacy

Nummeric does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. The app is safe for all ages.

Changes to This Policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Because Nummeric collects no personal data, meaningful changes to this policy are unlikely.
